The Bulldogs will welcome the Yellow Jackets for the annual early season meeting between the two rivals. Georgia last played on Nov. 8, in a 72-52 win over Wofford. Right now little is known about either team, who are both sending very young lineups out on to the court.

The Jackets dominated Presbyterian 88-57 in the season opener, and then somewhat struggled until pulling away late against Delaware State. It’s never an easy game against Georgia, who will be distributing the ball to many different shooters this season after losing star shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the NBA draft.

Georgia Tech sophomores Marcus Georges-Hunt and Robert Carter, Jr. have both had solid games in the first two contests, but to beat a squad like Georgia, the Jackets will have to get another big game from Trae Golden, who lead all scorers in the win against Delaware State.

Tech’s 3-point shooting could end up being the difference in this game, as Georgia plays a bigger lineup that depends on points in the paint and short-range jumpers. The smaller, quicker Yellow Jacket lineup could be hard for the Bulldogs to defend. However, the Jackets’ problems with rebounding probably wont improve against the much larger Georgia frontcourt.

This will be Tech’s first of three games against SEC opponents before ACC conference play opens on Jan. 4.
