Georgia Tech Swimming & Diving to Host GT Invitational



The Georgia Tech swimming & diving team will be hosting the GT Invitational at the Aquatic Center on campus over the weekend. The three-day meet begins with preliminary action on Friday at 10 a.m. and continues through Sunday.

Schools who will be competing include Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Miami, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast and James Madison. Last season at the event, Florida State won both the men’s and women’s meet, with the Yellow Jackets placing second in the men’s meet, and fourth in the women’s.

This will be the first action for the Yellow Jackets in two weeks, after posting impressive wins over the Savannah College of Art & Design at the GT Aquatic Center.

Schedule of Events is as follows:

Friday 10 a.m. Prelims; 6 p.m. Finals

200 yard freestyle relay
500 yard freestyle
200 yard IM
50 yard freestyle
Men’s 3-Meter Diving
Women’s 1-Meter Diving
400 yard medley relay

Saturday 10 a.m. Prelims; 6 p.m. Finals

200 yard medley relay
400 yard IM
100 yard butterfly
200 yard freestyle
100 yard breaststroke
100 yard backstroke
Women’s 3-Meter Diving
Men’s 1-Meter Diving
800 yard freestyle relay

Sunday 9 a.m. Prelims; 3 p.m. Finals

1650 yard freestyle
200 yard backstroke
100 yard freestyle
200 yard breaststroke
200 yard butterfly
Platform diving
400 yard freestyle relay

Live scoring will be available at for all six sessions of the GT Invitational, with free live video coverage available each evening for the finals.
