The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will be participating in the 15th annual ACC-Big 10 Challenge, the inter-conference basketball series started in 1999. Previously the ACC played against the Big East in a similar series.

Since the ACC and B1G matched up their respective hoops teams in this series, the ACC has dominated the Big Ten with a 10-3-1 series record. The ACC’s overall record in this series is 82-61. ACC home teams have an overall record of 46- 20, but in away games the ACC has not fared as well with a record of 29-38. In neutral court efforts The ACC has a record of 7-3

The Yellow Jackets will be making their 14th appearance in the event, with Tech electing not to participate in 2009. Georgia Tech is five games under the .500 mark in this series at 4-9, and have not been ranked in the AP Top 25  going into this series since 2006, when they were ranked 24th  and defeated Penn State 77-73.

Last year the Yellow Jackets lost to the Illinois Fighting Illini 75-62 in Champaign, Ill., and will be looking to exact some revenge in this year’s matchup against Illinois when they visit McCamish Pavilion this week. The Jackets are 3-2 in the five games they have played at home in this event.
