It wasn’t completely unexpected, but it was still exciting for Paul Johnson and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets to learn that four-Star running back C.J. Leggett had chosen Tech for his commitment.

Leggett will be a perfect fit for Tech, and could actually come in and make an impact as a freshman next season. His low to the ground frame and solid build will serve him well in picking his way through tackles in Tech’s option offense. He’s also shown good burst to the outside when given the opportunity.

After his performance in the GHSA football playoffs, several recruiting sites–including ESPN–upgraded Leggett (Alpharetta, Ga., North Gwinnett HS) from three to four stars in their ratings.

Last week, Michael Carvell of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Leggett was seriously considering Georgia Tech after being contacted by defensive coordinator Ted Roof.

The Yellow Jackets now have 19 total commitments for the 2014 class, including 16 three-star and three four-star players – eight on offense, ten on defense and one in the athlete category.
