It’s a yearly ritual in college football. Players leave, via graduation or early exit to the draft (or unexpected transfer), and their spots have to be filled by someone. The Georgia Tech football team is losing some outstanding talent on both sides of the ball, so who will step up and take over in their stead?

When you start talking about who will replace the production of guys like Jeremiah Attaochu, David Sims, Robert Godhigh, Brandon Watts and Jemea Thomas, that question suddenly takes on a whole new meaning. Those are the guys who were the anchors and workhorses for the Yellow Jackets.

Oh yeah, and there’s also the matter of finding a new starting quarterback now that Vad Lee has decided to take his talents to…well, to wherever he’s taking them. Dolly Madison or something I think? No wait, those are the ‘Zingers’ people, right? Always been more of a Twinkies man myself.

But, I digress.

The bottom line is, the Yellow Jackets are going to need some players to step up to fill the shoes of these guys, so who is best suited and ready to take up the mantle for some of Tech’s top performers? Here are five possible candidates to be the next big think on the Flats next season.
