With the Georgia Tech Spring Football Game approximately three months away, sophomore running back Broderick Snoddy is staying in shape by running track for the Georgia Tech Track Team.
The Men’s Track and Field schedule runs from January 1st – May 10th, with the Georgia Tech Invitational starting May 16th-17th. The East Preliminaries take place May 29th-31st and the NCAA Championships are June 11th-14th.
On January 24th, the first day of the Vanderbilt Invitational, Nikita Kirillov was the top Jacket, placing third in the pole vault with a height of 5.05m (16-06.75 ft). Kirillov, didn’t compete indoors as a sophomore, but did take third place at the outdoor Georgia Relays with vault of 15′.
On day two of the Vanderbilt Invitations, Broderick Snoddy capped the day off with two wins, one in the 60 meters and another in the 200 meters. Snoddy won the 200 meter race, and in the course of doing so, set a facility record and tied his personal best with a time of 21.23.
Snoddy also won his 60-meter dash race by posting a time of 6.71 which was faster than his preliminary second place time of 6.78.
In other track events, Morgan Jackson took 14th place in the mile run with a time of 5:03:31. Jeremy Greenwald came in third with a personal-best time of 4:03.58 in the mile run.
With Snoddy the fastest player on the football team, it seems unlikely that his touches wont increase out of the backfield next season, especially with the departure of former burner, Robert Godhigh.
