For the first time in the 2014 season, the Georgia Tech baseball team has entered the Baseball America top 25, entering at #23 in this week’s rankings.
A 4-1 road trip, with single game wins over Georgia State and Kennesaw State, and a 2-1 series win over the North Carolina Tar Heels, is a big reason why the Yellow Jackets were added to this week’s rankings. Proof that good things will actually happen when you beat two ranked ACC opponents–Miami and North Carolina–in consecutive series.
After a rough start to the season, the Jackets have slowly started to show signs that the young crop of talent that was highly praised in this freshman class may indeed live up to potential.
Tech sits with a 15-9 overall record, and 5-4 in the ACC. They have an upcoming single game at home against Mercer before they hit the road again for their next ACC series against the Pittsburgh Panthers. The Jackets will then open the month of April with a 10-game homestand.
