Georgia Tech ready to meet No. 1 Seminoles in weekend series

The #1 ranked Florida Sate Seminoles are coming to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech.

No, not those Seminoles, although Jameis Winston will be with them.

The FSU baseball team is bringing it’s Heisman Trophy winning closer, and No. 1 ranking to Russ Chandler Stadium for a weekend series that pits two of the ACC’s best offenses against each other.

The wood will be flying this weekend, as Tech and FSU are ranked second and third in the ACC in hitting, The Yellow Jackets boast a conference-best in hits (342) and triples (12), and three of Jackets are in the top 20 in hitting.

The Jackets have had good luck against #1 ranked teams recently, winning four of their last six versus teams sitting on top of at least one poll,  including a 5-4 win over the Noles in the 2012 ACC Tournament, and going 3-2 last season against #1 teams.

The question will be whether the Jackets shaky pitching staff–who performed marvelously against Duke–will be able to withstand the big bats that the Seminoles swing.
