Georgia Tech Women's Tennis: Jackets Fall to no. 7 Virginia in ACC Tourney

The Georiga Tech women’s tennis team (13-9, 9-5 ACC) ended their ACC Tournament run on Friday by losing to #7 ranked Virginia (19-5, 12-2 ACC), 4 matches to 1.

The Jackets’ lone win came from Muriel Wacker as she was able to defeat Maci Epstein 6-4 and 6-4.  Tech finished the season at a record of 13 and 9,  highlighted by a 4 matches to 3 win over #1 ranked Duke just a week before the ACC Tournament.

“We lost a very tough one today to a very good Virginia team,” head coach Rodney Harmon told RamblinWreck.com. “We played reasonably well in doubles. At number one, we played very well. They outplayed us at two and three.”

The Lady Jackets look to use this momentum to carry them into the NCAA Tournament.  The First and Second Rounds of the tournament will be held in two weeks (May 9th through 11th).
