With the 225th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings selected Georgia Tech OLB Brandon Watts.

At 6′ 225 lbs. Watts is a below average sized outside linebacker. Being on the pre-season Butkus Award watch list put Watts on the map but he was unable to maintain the spotlight.

The Vikings finished 2013 with a 5-10-1 record which put them 4th place in the NFC North.

With the current make up of the Vikings, Watts best chance to make the team will be on special teams.  If given the opportunity to play special teams, his athleticism should turn heads and draw attention to him. Minnesota got a steal with Watts coming in the 7th round, and he’ll show that very quickly in training camp.
