It is never good to see punishments handed out to players just before camp is about to start, but the integrity of the athletic program is always going to be paramount. Georgia Tech announced today that three players have been dismissed from the football team and another will be suspended for the first two games of the College Football season.
Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Anthony Autry, redshirt defensive lineman Darius Commissiong, redshirt sophomore wide receiver Travin Henry have all been dismissed from the football program while redshirt sophomore defensive back Lynn Griffin received a two game suspension for what the school reffered to as, “violations of the Athletic Associations student-athlete code of conduct.”
Fortunately these players were not really expected to make a major impact fort the 2014 College Football season. Anthony Autry missed last year with an injury after logging three catches for 117 yards in 2012. Henry came to Georgia Tech as a wide receiver but had been moved to defense during spring practice.
Defensive back Lynn Griffin is going to miss the games against Wofford on August 30th and against Tulane on September 6th. That means that he will be available for the Yellow Jackets home game on September 13th vs Georgia Southern.
