We somehow found a way to pick three stars of the game from the Jackets 45-0 loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Picking three stars of a game for a game in which a team lost 45-0 is quite hard to do when picking for the team on the losing side, but yet here we are. With that being said, we’ve selected three Yellow Jackets following yesterday’s dismal performance as Jackets who stood out. We could’ve very well picked nobody but all doom and gloom won’t help anything, so with that and without further adieu, the three stars of the game.

Offense: RB Jamious Griffin

Picking a star of the game on offense is really hard to do when looking at the stats but after thinking about it for a while, Jamious Griffin is our player of the game, just edging out fellow running back Christian Malloy. Griffin had just two carries in the game but picked up a total of 21-yards. It wasn’t much for the true freshman but he certainly made the most of his limited opportunities. He’ll be an exciting back to watch in the future for the Yellow Jackets.

Defense: DE Jordan Domineck

Domineck had a quality performance against the Hokies, putting together a stat line five tackles including three solo tackles, half a sack, and one tackle for a loss. He also had one quarterback hurry in the game, putting together a pretty solid stat line considering the defense allowed 45-points and 461-yards.

dark. Next. Five takeaways from Jackets 45-0 loss to Virginia Tech

Special Teams: P Pressley Harvin III

We talked about it in the key takeaways from last night but Pressley Harvin III was one of the few Yellow Jackets to have a good day. Harvin had possibly his best day of punting as a Yellow Jacket, booming nine punts an average of 48.2 yards including a long of 58-yards. Only one punt landed inside the 20-yard line but Harvin was tremendous on Saturday and did all he could to put the Jackets defense in strong positions.

The Yellow Jackets will need to review the tape and get Saturday’s poor performance out of their mind as they prepare for N.C State on Thursday night.
