#1 – DB Step Durham (Signed)

Step is a 4-star Defensive Back, from Jacksonville, Fl., where he played at Atlantic Coast High School. Durham is a player that has that sixth sense and can find the ball at all times. He also has the ability to identify a run or pass play very quick.  Durham can play off and press receivers, which disrupts the receiver’s route, making it hard to get separation when coming off the line and running their routes.

With above average speed, Durham can close fast when coming up for run or pass support. His height is an inch or two shorter than the other corners on the roster, but with his 38.5” vertical leap, the one or two inch difference will not hinder his ability to make plays.

If Durham can put on some mass and learn the ins and outs of Ted Roof’s defense, he might find himself starting some games in 2014.

I’m not sure if all or any of these recruits will make it onto the field in the 2014 football season. With that being said, if they get out on the practice field and show the coaches what they are capable of doing, they might not give the coaches a choice but to put them in the game.
