The last Major Golf Tournament of the PGA season starts Thursday as the PGA Championship will get underway from Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.

There are going to be five Georgia Tech alum golfers taking their hacks at trying to win the final major of the year led by the No.5 golfer on the planet Matt Kuchar.

More from Yellow Jackets News

Kuchar, who is a seven-time winner on the PGA Tour,  is No.5 in Ryder Cup points and has stacked up $4.129 mil in earnings on tour this year. He also leads the tour in Top 10 finishes with 10.

The other four golfers that will round out the Georgia Tech contingent in Vahalla are 2009 British Open Champion Stewart Cink, as well as fellow golfers Roberto Castro, Cameron Tringale and Chesson Hadley.

This tournament is going to have a little extra incentive for these Tech golfers because they will also be jockeying for 2014 Fed Ex Cup Playoff position.

Matt Kuchar is sitting in a pretty nice position right now as he is currently fourth in Fed Ex Cup points. Other Yellow Jackets sitting in Fed Ex Cup Playoff position is Cameron Tringale at 55th, Chesson Hadley at 64th, Stewart Cink at 102nd, Bryce Molder at 113th and Nicholas Thompson at 121st.

Roberto Castro is on the outside looking in as he is sitting at 144th on the Fed Ex Cup standings. In order to make the PGA postseason you have to be in the Top 125.

For your amusement only,  here are the current odds on Tech golfers to win the PGA Championship:

Matt Kuchar 32-1 (+3200)

Roberto Castro 350-1 (+35000)

Chesson Hadley 300-1 (+30000)

Stewart Cink (NA)
