The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (12-14, 3-11 ACC) were able to get some healing that only victory can bring by defeating the Clemson Tigers (15-11, 7-7 ACC ) 63-52 in McCamish Pavilion.

The Yellow Jackets defense held the Tigers in check allowing Clemson to only connect on 36.4% of their shots for the contest.

Tech was able to use their defense to get out on the break and create easy shots for themselves. Tech had 15 assisted buckets out of the 25 that they made for the game.

Georgia Tech was able to extend their 23-21 halftime lead to as much as 18 points in the second half because of their defense and were really never threatened for the rest of the game.

The Jackets were led in scoring by Josh Heath who dropped a season high 14 points on the stat sheet.

Marcus Georges-Hunt added 11 points and four rebounds and Demarco Cox finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Georgia Tech was able to outrebound Clemson 38-29 for the contest.

Robert Sampson was able to grab 10 of those boards to go along with seven points.

Clemson was led by Jarron Blossomgame who finished with 10 points and seven boards.

Austin Ajukwa also added 10 points with Rod Hall and Landry Nnoko finishing with eight points each.

The mystery is what happened to Chris Bolden and why is he suspended?

It was stated on ESPNU after the game that Brian Gregory was going to address this with the media following the win.

But it looks like Gregory wants to enjoy the win and deal with the Bolden suspension later, and rightfully so!

Without getting specific it looks like whatever happened has Chris Bolden gone from the tea for the foreseeable future.

Bolden had been playing some solid basketball for the Jackets of late. There will be something more official on Bolden’s status before the Jackets play North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Saturday.

Right now it is about Georgia Tech enjoying a much needed home win.
