Malcolm Mackey beat out some fairly stiff competition (John Salley, Luke Schenscher, Ed Elisma, etc.) from the annals of Georgia Tech basketball to be the pick at center.

With the Yellow Jackets earning a spot in the dance each of the four years he was on campus, Mackey currently holds the school record for most tournament games played (11) and for rebounds in a single tourney game (19 vs. Ohio State in 1991).

In addition, Mackey averaged 11.0 points points per contest while donning Georgia Tech gold in the NCAA Tourament, scoring a personal-high 27 in the opening round versus Southern University in 1993.
