Two walk-ons who are expected to be big contributors to the upcoming Georgia Tech football team have earned scholarships.

Isiah “Ike” Willis, the redshirt junior A-back expected to start this season, and junior linebacker Chase Alford have both been placed on scholarships just a few weeks before the first game against Alcorn State on September 3rd.

Willis only has two career rushes in two eligible seasons but has impressed the coaches with his work in the offseason after seeing so many productive A-backs leave the program in the past 8 months. Alford appeared in all 14 games last season and logged 4 tackles, and may help fill the void left by inside linebacker Anthony Harrell, who transferred to Florida this summer.

Both men must be overjoyed at how their hard work over the years has paid off. Congratulations to both young men on a great achievement!
