It’s time for the daily lunch break, today we take a look at the Yellow Jackets loss to Duke while on the football side, Trent Sellers’ transfer announcement and a pair of accolades for one Yellow Jacket.

Grayson Allen, Duke Dominate Yellow Jackets

Sorry for not being able to get a game recap up for this game but let’s discuss it here. To make it simple, Wednesday night’s game was more about the separation of talent between the two teams than anything. While Georgia Tech struggled at shooting form the field and at the line, the Blue Devils also shot 55.7% from the field and 51.6% (16-31) from three which made a major difference in the game.

Three Yellow Jackets scored in double-digits on Saturday with Tarik Jackson, Justin Moore, and Josh Okogie all scoring 11-points. For Duke, all five starters scored double digits with two players coming off the bench with double digit points as well. Freshman forward Jayson Tatum lead all scorers with 19-points.

The loss drops the Yellow Jackets to 9-5 (1-1) on the season.

DE Trent Sellers Transferring:

After red shirting his true freshman season, Sellers saw time in just one game in 2016. Sellers is the fifth Yellow Jacket to transfer since seasons end. He joins LB Emanuel Bridges, RB Marcus Marshall, WR Christian Philpott, and CB Dorian Walker.

A look at the Yellow Jackets depth chart and scholarship charts shows that Sellers most likely would’ve saw a lack of playing time going forward. KeShun Freema will return as a starter on one side next season with Antonio Simmons sliding into the spot left by Roderick Rook-Chunggong on the opposite side. Rising junior Anree Saint-Amour will most likely see a heavy amount of playing time next season as the main back-up defensive end.

Butker Receives A Pair of All-Bowl Team Honors:

Yellow Jackets kicker Harrison Butker has received a pair of All-Bowl team honors for his perfect performance in the Yellow Jacket’s 33-18 TaxSlayer Bowl victory. Those honors were handed down by the Associated Press and the NCAA.

Butker went 4-for-4 on field goals last Saturday, with field goals from 23, 26, 44, and 52-yards. Butker also hit on all three of his extra points. In total, Butker finished the Yellow Jackets victory with 15 of Georgia Tech’s 33 points.
