C Freddie Burton:

Burton broke his right fibula in Georgia Tech’s TaxSlayer Bowl victory over Kentucky last season. That being said, Burton is still in his rehabilitation progress and getting healthier every day. He was unable to partake in most activities in Friday’s pro day but was expected to partake in the measurables including the bench press according to Matt Winkeljohn of RamblinWreck.com, Georgia Tech’s official school athletics site.

No reports came out of Friday’s pro day regarding Burton’s measurables.

QB/DB Justin Thomas:

While Thomas was a quarterback for Georgia Tech, he was invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl in January as a safety, hence him being listed as a defensive back as well. Thomas was hoping to show his abilities at multiple positions on Friday, hoping to boost his draft stock.

Out of all former Yellow Jackets on Friday, former Jackets signal caller Justin Thomas may be the Jacket who benefited the most. The most amazing part of his pro day may be his 40-yard dash time that was clocked at 4.28. Now, most NFL scouts will add about .05 seconds to a time, making up for any potential human error. Even so, Thomas would have run a 4.33, 40-yard dash, which would’ve ranked first for quarterbacks and top-five for defensive backs at the combine.

Reports out of the pro day are that Thomas showed off his versatility and overall improved his draft stock. While he still will most likely go undrafted at this point as he lacks a definitive position, there is a strong chance that he may be at picked up as an undrafted free agent following next month’s draft.
Up next are the defensive players, the largest group of the day for Georgia Tech featuring five players, including two Jackets who already spent time in the NFL hoping to land with another team.
