Georgia Tech Basketball: Projected starting five for 2017-18
Shooting Guard: Josh Okogie (So.)
No other Yellow Jacket last season had an impressive season like Josh Okogie. While Ben Lammers tremendous season was a close second, Okogie came out of nowhere it seemed and became one of the top freshmen in the ACC.
An overlooked recruit coming out of high school, Okogie lead the Yellow Jackets in scoring averaging 16.1 points per game. Okogie became to hit the national level during the NIT Tournament when he scored 20+ points in three of the five games.
Heading into his sophomore season, Okogie is going to have the potential to be one of the top players in the ACC. Another impressive and strong season for Okoige cold also results in a potential rise in NBA Draft stock. With that being said, the 2017-18 season will be extremely important for Okogie no matter if he is looking to go professional or not following next season.
While Okogie will not necessarily put up the same scoring numbers next season, expect the Snellville, Georgia native to become a complete player next season.
The next position up is small forward or in more general terms, the forward position. With Quinton Stephens departing, the Jackets ability to fill Stephens spot will be vital to the team’s success in 2017-18.
