#4: Smoov goes flying over Virginia Tech defenders

One thing that is absolutely necessary to make the option offense as dangerous as possible is an athletic quarterback. While Josh Nesbitt and Tevin Washington were both respected athletes, there is no doubt that Justin Thomas was the most athletic quarterback in the Paul Johnson era.

#4 – There’s nothing more athletic than flying over defenders. Although juking and spinning around defenders was no doubt JT’s most superior skill, in 2014 at Virginia Tech, #5 took flight. Just one minute before the end of the first half, Georgia Tech found themselves down 13-3. However, with Justin Thomas as your QB, deficits could be erased in a matter of seconds. With limited time left on the clock, JT made the most of his shot at the end zone – diving over a defender from the three-yard line and stretching the ball over the line. The touchdown was the beginning of a rally that led the Jackets to a 27-24 W in Blacksburg.
