T1st: Thomas gives the Jackets a chance

It’s time for the number one play. The absolute peak moment of Justin Thomas’ career. We tried so hard to narrow it down, but as you all know, Smoov’s career was full of exciting moments – and for that reason, we have two plays at T1st.

T1st – The first came during Justin’s sophomore season, and undoubtedly his best on the flats. 9-2 Georgia Tech headed to Athens to face 9-2 UGA in an attempt to break a five-year streak that the team in red had going. All things looked to be going great as the yellow jackets had the ball and the lead with just a little under three minutes remaining in the game – but, it wouldn’t be GT football if they didn’t make it a bit interesting. A questionable fumble resulted in a turnover for the Yellow Jackets and eventually, a touchdown for Georgia. 18 seconds remaining for the sophomore to begin a true legacy in a tech uniform, and he did just that. After seeing no open receivers, JT took the game into his own hands and scrambled 21 yards to set Harrison Butker up for a 53-yard game-tying field goal. While most props go to Harrison for making the kick, the incredible last second scramble to give the team a chance should never go unnoticed.
