Georgia Tech Football: Top 5 plays of Justin Thomas’ career
By Jared Halus
T1st: JT finds Deon Hill for the win
A quality that separates a good QB from a great one is the clutch factor, and as the last play proves, Justin Thomas definitely had it. That wasn’t his only clutch moment of the 2014 season, though.
T1st – After trailing 35-10 at halftime, Georgia Southern scored 28 unanswered points to put themselves in a position to beat a P5 opponent for the second year in a row. Keep in mind that Georgia Southern was playing great football at the time, knocking off Florida in the swamp a year before – so while they were no easy team to beat, a loss still would’ve been embarrassing for Georgia Tech. Just 23 ticks were left on the clock and the Yellow Jackets were facing a third-and-7 from the 13-yard line. Ga Southern sent a blitz, but somehow #5 escaped and found Deon Hill for the game-winning touchdown.
Chills. All of em. The kid was just an absolute star in his role. From clutch moments to just embarrassing the opposition, Smoov will always be a GT legend in our book.
