Wake Forest (22-8):

It’s no shock that the Demon Deacons show up on this list, since Georgia Tech joined the ACC in 1978, the two teams have faced each other 26 times. In those 39-years of ACC Football for Georgia Tech, the Jackets have won 18 of 26 games. However the two teams have failed to meet since 2010 when the Jackets pulled off a narrow 24-20 victory.

While Georgia Tech historically holds the lead in the series between the two programs all-time, the Demon Deacons have a win in arguably the most important game. That game is no other than the 2006 ACC Championship Game. For those who don’t remember, it featured both teams finishing with less than 300-yards of offense and a final score of 9-6. The Jackets would go onto lose in the then 2007 Gator Bowl to the West Virginia Mountaineers 38-35. Wake Forest lost the Orange Bowl that season too the then Big East Louisville Cardinals in a 24-13 game.

The two programs will finally meet for the first time in seven years when the Demon Deacons travel to The Flats on October 21st.
