The Others:

Chase Martenson (RS JR):

Entering his redshirt junior season Martenson has yet to step on the field for any game action. He redshirted in 2014 and didn’t see any game action in 2015 or 2016. He most likely won’t factor into the position battle.

Lucas Johnson (RS FR):

Johnson was a three-star quarterback coming of high school and was part of the 2016 recruiting class. A pro-style quarterback coming out of high school, Johnson appeared to be the best passer of all the Georgia Tech quarterbacks in the spring game. The San Diego, California native was 7-for-13 in the spring game with one touchdown and one interception.

He also showed off his abilities when running the ball, gaining 81-yards on 11 carries while picking up another touchdown. It wouldn’t be shocking if Johnson was part of the quarterback battle to begin camp but it would be a bit surprised if he were to win the job.

Tobias Oliver (FR):

Oliver was an outstanding quarterback coming out of high school but unless he’s really impressive in camp, he shouldn’t see playing time in 2017 barring injuries.
