Coastal Division:

Unlike the Atlantic Division, the Coastal Division is much more wide open in terms of who’s going to win the division. Six of the seven teams from the Coastal received at least one vote with Virginia being the only team to not get a first place vote.

  1. Miami (103)
  2. Virginia Tech (40)
  3. Georgia Tech (9)
  4. Pitt (7)
  5. UNC (4)
  6. Duke (4)
  7. Virginia

Miami unsurprisingly won the vote here by a pretty overwhelming margin. The Hurricanes enter 2017 once again but can the Mark Richt lead the Hurricanes to surpass their expectations? The media is high on Virginia Tech despite a few questions that still have to be answered. The Yellow Jackets are always the ultimate wild card team in the ACC, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Jackets as high as the top spot or as low as six when it’s all said and done. Pittsburgh must replace Matt Canada at offensive coordinator and have a new quarterback but should have an improved defense (they have to be right?). North Carolina appears to be on track for a down year after several strong seasons under Larry Fedora. Duke is a team on the rise but it’s hard to see them finishing higher than fourth in the Coastal in 2017.
