1.  Jerry Howard leads the Jackets in rushing yards

To some this may be surprising and to others it probably isn’t all that surprising but by the end of the season, expect true freshman Jerry Howard to lead the Jackets in rushing yards. While now dismissed Dedrick Mills was going to be the go to the back and was looking to be one of the best running backs in the nation. But that’s history now and the only way for the Jackets to go is forward.

Going forward means looking for the next best thing and that just may be Jerry Howard. Despite only earning his consensus third-star late in the 2017 recruiting cycle, Howard has impressed the coaching staff on The Flats quickly this summer and now without Mills could very well become the top rushing option in 2017. While there are plenty of options in the backfield, the true freshman will ultimately make the biggest mark.
