Lawrenceville, Georgia native Malachi Carter is set to make his commitment this weekend between Georgia Tech and Iowa State

Commitment #15 may be on the horizon for the Georgia Tech football team as three-star wide out

Malachi Carter

is ready to make his college commitment.

More from Football

The Lawrenceville, Georgia native holds 19 scholarship offers including a handful from power five programs. Carter had a fantastic junior season for Mountain View High School, with 57 receptions for 1,012-yards and 11 touchdowns according to 247Sports. He has started off his senior season in good fashion as well with 16 receptions for 194-yards and three touchdowns

For Carter, his decision may come down to the amount of impact he would like to see himself have on an offense during his college career. At Tech, it’s known that wide receivers are more for blocking than receiving since it’s a run-based offense. At Iowa State, Carter would have a chance at a higher impact in offenses than enjoy putting the ball in the air.

Prediction: With what is being said at this point about Carter, it feels like it’s between Georgia Tech and Iowa State. Ultimately, Carter will announce his commitment to… Iowa State. But don’t get any wrong ideas, this is a very close race between the Cyclones and the Yellow Jackets. Tech earning his commitment would not be any surprise what so ever.

Currently, the Yellow Jackets 2018 recruiting class features 14 commitments and is headlined by three-star defensive tackle TK Chimedza from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Currently, it features one wide receiver commitment in Newnan High standout PJ Harris. The last commitment for the Yellow Jackets took place on August 8th when Florida corner Juanyeh Thomas made his commitment.
