Volleyball:

More from Yellow Jacked Up

Three weeks into the 2017 season, the Georgia Tech women’s volleyball team sits at a 5-5 record. While they would like to be above .500, the good news for the Yellow Jackets is, they enter Friday night’s match with Georgia on a three-game winning streak.

The Jackets will head to Athens on Friday hoping to carry over their success from the Georgia Tech Invitational last week. The Jackets defeated Xavier, North Florida, and Kansas State, dropping just three sets over the course of the tournament.

The matchup against the Bulldogs will be the Jackets final non-conference game of the season before they begin their conference slate next Friday against Clemson. The Bulldogs enter Friday’s matchup with a respectable 8-3 record, including a 4-0 record in Athens.

That being said, the Bulldogs in their last seven games are 4-3 with losses High Point, Wofford, and Kennesaw State.

The Yellow Jackets will have an advantage entering Friday’s match as well. The Bulldogs will be playing the third game of a back-to-back-to-back schedule as they played Kennessaw State on Wednesday and face the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Thursday night.

The match is set for a 7 pm start time on Friday night and can be seen on the SEC Network+.

Tennis:

The women’s tennis team will be in action for the first time this season on Friday as they take part in the Duke Invitational. The invitational will take part from Friday to Sunday.

The women’s tennis team is coming off a phenomenal 2017 that saw them go 27-5 on the season including a 13-0 conference record and a 15-0 record at home. You can find a complete schedule of the Jacket’s matches for this weekend in Durham here.
