Four ACC matchups headling week four in the ACC.

ACC Conference play is beginning to heat up in week four. All fourteen ACC teams are in action in week four with Virginia playing on Friday night against Boise State. The remaining 13 teams play on Saturday including eight teams going up against another ACC opponent. Here are the predictions for week four’s games.

North Carolina State Wolf Pack vs #12 Florida State Seminoles

This could be a tricky game for Florida State to say the least. The Seminoles had two weeks off due to Hurricane Irma and now will take on one of the more talented teams in the ACC. Not to mention that James Blackmon will make his first career start for the Seminoles.

The Wolf Pack should keep this game close and keep the Seminoles on upset alert. The only question for North Carolina State is if they can put up enough points on a tremendous Florida State defense.

Prediction: Florida State 23 – North Carolina State 17

Kent State Golden Flashes vs #19 Lousiville Cardinals

The Cardinals are coming off a huge loss to Clemson at home last week and will be looking to take their anger out on their opponent. Unfortunately for Kent State, they have the honor of being that opponent.

Lamar Jackson is still one of the best quarterbacks in the nation and Kent State is probably one of the worst teams in the country. Even if Louisville plays down to Kent State’s level it shouldn’t be close.

Prediction: Louisville 63 – Kent State 6

Old Dominion Monarchs vs #13 Virginia Tech Hokies

This game should be a blowout on paper but with Clemson coming to Blacksburg in week five, this has “trap game” written all over it. The only problem with it being a trap game is that the Monarchs may not be strong enough to beat a Hokies team that isn’t playing at their highest potential.

Old Dominion has a 17-year old starting quarterback who will be playing in one of the toughest stadiums in all of college football. Expect Tech to blitz early and blitz often Saturday.

Prediction: Virginia Tech 48 – Old Dominion 10

Wake Forest Demon Deacons vs Appalachian State Mountaineers

Wake Forest is 3-0 and looking like a much better team offensively this season. On Saturday, they reignite their rivalry with Appalachian State. The Mountaineers are one of the better group of five teams in the country year in and year out. That being said, Wake Forest’s defense should win this game even if the offense struggles.

Prediction: Wake Forest 30 – Appalachian State 17

Boston College Eagles vs #2 Clemson Tigers

This game should be over by the end of the first half if not the first quarter. Boston College continues to struggle on both sides of the ball and are not showing any signs of improving anytime soon.

On the other side, Clemson is coming off two huge back-to-back victories and are looking like National Championship contenders.

Prediction: Clemson 52 – Boston College 3

Toledo Rockets vs #14 Miami Hurricanes

Miami finally returns to the gridiron on Saturday and will face a group of five opponent in Toledo. That being said, the Rockets are an extremely high powered offense that could give a Miami team that hasn’t played in two weeks a run for their money early on.

Miami should win the game on Saturday but it wouldn’t be shocking if it’s closer than the 13 point spread.

Prediction: Miami Hurricanes 33 – Toledo Rockets 24

Duke Blue Devils vs North Carolina Tar Heels:

The Blue Devils have shown this season they could be among the best teams in the ACC and on Saturday they’ll be looking to get out to a 4-0 start. The Tar Heels are falling victim to injuries so far this season, including losing three starters for the season.

The Tar Heels looked better against Old Dominion but the Blue Devils look like a legitimate seven to a nine-win team at least this season. It’s going to be close but the Blue Devils will put out the victory.

Prediction: Duke 34 – North Carolina 30

Syracuse vs #25 LSU:

This is a tough matchup for Syracuse in a ton of ways. Despite being embarrassed at home last week by now 15th ranked Mississippi State, LSU is still an extremely talented team. While the Orange have taken strides to improve this season, they’re still miles behind the Tigers.

Add in the fact that it’s a night game in Death Valley and it won’t be pretty for Syracuse.

Prediction: LSU 52 – Syracuse 13
