Georgia Tech football will be looking for their third win of the season on Saturday and here are three keys to a Yellow Jacket victory.

1)      Win the turnover battle

More from Football

It’s been stressed a lot this week but winning the turnover battle especially after last week will be one of the Jackets biggest keys to victory this weekend. The Tar Heels haven’t been overly forceful when it comes to creating turnovers but the Jackets tend to beat themselves. North Carolina’s offense isn’t Pittsburgh’s offense and has the firepower to score especially on short field situations. The Jackets will need to keep their turnovers to a minimum on Saturday and force the Tar Heels to make mistakes.

2)      Pressure Surratt early and often

One way for the Jackets to force the Tar Heels to make mistakes is to get to the quarterback. Last week against Duke, Chazz Surratt was sacked four times while being pressured an additional five times. It’s no coincidence that Suratt had his worst game of the season, completing just 53% of his passes and throwing his first interception of the season. If Surratt is able to stay clean he’s shown his ability to be a good quarterback, that being said, the Jackets must get pressure on the freshman quarterback.

3)      Continue strong offensive line play

The Jackets are leading the country in rushing yards with 393-yards per game. A lot of that is thanks to the offensive line that has played phenomenally through three games. While North Carolina’s defense isn’t spectacular, they have been able to get pressure on the quarterback and the backfield as a whole this season. For the Jackets, continuing the strong run protection and keeping TaQuon Marshall on his feet in passing situations will go along way towards a win.
