The Hurricanes, winners of their last nine dating back to last season, sit at 4-0 (2-0) on the season. This past weekend, they defeated in-state rival Florida State in a heated and emotional game that went down to the wire. The Hurricanes defense has proven to be stellar as expected and will be a huge test for the Jackets offense.

The Yellow Jackets, winners of their last three and nine of eleven dating back to last season. The Jackets defense has been the surprise of the season thus far. After allowing 42 points in their first game to Tennessee, the Jackets have allowed just 34 points in their last three.

The showdown between the ACC Coastal division rivals will be one of the most important in the ACC in 2017 and will be pivotal in deciding the ACC Coastal champion. The triumvirate of games between Georgia Tech, Miami, and Virginia Tech will ultimately be the deciding factor.

Currently, the only team out of three that is not ranked is the Yellow Jackets. However, the Jackets are on the cusp of being ranked. In the AP Week 7 Poll, the Jackets received 39 total votes which have them just one spot away from being ranked in the AP Top 25.
