  • The true freshman will be getting his first start of the season on Saturday with junior starter Brant Mitchell out. So far the Louisiana native and Tech legacy have 12 tackles on the season including one tackle for a loss. He also has a pass breakup. His 12 tackles rank 9th on the team. With Wake Forests’ run-first offense, Jordan-Swilling will play a huge part in the Jackets defensive strategy. Last week, Miami was able to run the ball extremely well one Mitchell left with his injury, making the Wake Forest run game against the Jackets defense a must-watch matchup.

    2) K Brenton King

Starting kicker Shawn Davis was lost for the season when he tore his ACL while going down the field on a kickoff. While Davis didn’t get off to the greatest start this season he was appearing to find a groove before he tore his ACL. King will now have all the pressure on him throughout the rest of the season as the Jackets starting kicker. If the Jackets are going to run the table, they’ll have to have some big kicks out of King.

    3) QB Taquon Marshall

Marshall is coming off his least productive game of the season against a highly talented and strong Miami defense. Wake Forest’s defense may not be as talented on paper but the Deacons have one of the best defenses in the country without a doubt. Look for Marshall to have a big impact early as he looks to get into a roll. If he can get comfortable and confident early on, the Jackets will be in a great place going forward.
