Three-star strong forward Khalid Moore ended his college recruitment on Tuesday night committing to Georgia Tech.

New York native Khalid Moore has committed to Georgia Tech basketball and coach Josh Pastner. A 6-foot-6, 175-pound strong forward, Moore is a  three-star prospect. He becomes the third commitment in the 2018 recruiting class joining point guard Michael Devoe and strong forward Kristijan Sjolund. The Jackets most likely will be able to fit one more recruit into the 2018 recruiting class, bringing the total count to four commitments, though scholarship count numbers are currently tight for the Jackets.

Moore chose Georgia Tech over Seton Hall, UNLV, Louisville, and Miami among other notable programs among a total 16 scholarship offers. According to MADE Hoops, Moore decided that Tech was the place for him to be after taking an official visit this past weekend.

Moore also told MADE Hoops the following;

"“I think they can push me to become better both on and off the court. They play in the ACC against a lot of good competition, they have a style I will fit in well with and are good academically.”"

Moore spent a strong amount of time on his official visit with former AAU teammate Jose Alvarado, another New York native. The comradery between the two should be beneficial for the Jackets once Moore arrives on campus next year.

With a second straight recruiting cycle with a commitment from a top five New York recruit, the Jackets are setting the foundations of building a strong pipeline with the Empire State. The Empire State pipeline has worked well in the past for the Yellow Jackets and could be a key to the future for the program going forward.

Josh Pastner will begin his second year with the Yellow Jackets on November 10th when the Jackets travel to Beijing, China to take on the UCLA Bruins. The Jackets will look to improve on their 21-10 overall record and 8-10 conference record.
