BB KirVonte Benson – Georgia Tech

Right now, there is no player in the Georgia Tech offense more important than KirVonte Benson. The sophomore b-back from Marietta, Georgia has been nearly unstoppable this season and leads the Yellow Jackets in rushing.

Last week, Benson rushed for 129-yards on 16-carries against a Clemson defense that had kept the Jackets under 100-yards rushing in back-to-back seasons prior to Saturday. No game this season showed Benson’s impact perhaps more than the Jackets heartbreaking loss to Miami.

In that one-point loss, Benson left the game with an injury after just seven carries. Once Benson left, the Jackets had very little success running the ball which helped contribute to the loss. Besides the Miami game, Benson has rushed for 100-yards or more in all but one other game this season.

He may only be 5-foot-9 and 211-pounds but the Georgia native delivers quite the punch when you try to tackle him. It should be a fun matchup to watch between Benson and a Virginia defense that has gotten run all over in their last three games.
