S  Quin Blanding – Virginia

Blanding is one of the top defensive players in the nation and it shows up on the stats sheet. So far this season, the former five-star prospect has 83 tackles, including two for a loss, and two interceptions.

Averaging just over 10 tackles a game, Blanding will be a disruptive force on Saturday and will be a major part of the Cavaliers plan to stop the Jackets offense. With the Jackets option offense, he’ll have the opportunity to rack up 10+ tackles easily and don’t be surprised if he picks off an errant TaQuon Marshall pass either.

For most of Saturday, Blanding will be found in the box and will be a major part in Virginia stopping any runs going towards the sidelines. Not all of Virginia’s defensive is highly athletic but Blanding has the skill set and ability to make up for his teammates’ mistakes.

If there is any player on either team that will have a big game for certain it’s Blanding. Luckily for Georgia Tech and the rest of the ACC, this is Blanding’s final year as he graduates and will be one of the top safeties in next year’s NFL Draft.

The bigger the game from Blanding on Saturday, the bigger the chance that Virginia is able to find a way to win the game.
