Georgia Tech basketball tips off their season on Friday night (Saturday afternoon local time) against the 21st ranked UCLA Bruins.

Months of preparation and hard work will hopefully begin to pay off for the Georgia Tech basketball team on Friday night. The Jackets will tip-off their 2017-2018 campaign against #21 UCLA in Shanghai.

Originally a game both teams and their fans were looking forward to, the game has quickly become one that many wishes could already be over. A total of five players on Friday will be suspended from playing. For Georgia Tech, stars Josh Okogie and Tadric Jackson are suspended for accepting impermissible benefits while UCLA had to suspend three freshmen as many already know.

The three freshmen include LiAngelo Ball, the brother of Los Angeles Laker Lonzo Ball and son of the controversial LaVar Ball.

However, the game must go on for both teams who look to put the last week and a half behind them and look forward to the season. Before delving into the matchup, let’s take a look at how UCLA performed last season.
