Projected Starting Fives:

Georgia Tech:

In reality, it’s hard to say who will be starting for the Yellow Jackets against UCLA. Going off their last exhibition against Faulkner, the starting five was the one above. When on the court together, those five showed strong chemistry and played extremely well. While Josh Pastner could go down another route, this starting five seems the most likely.

That being said, it is a risky starting five. Of their five starters, the only returning starter would be Ben Lammers. Alavardo, Heyward, and Wright are all true freshman while Gueye is looking to finally get consistent playing time this season.

UCLA:

The Bruins may have lost a ton of talent after last season but they still have a ton of talent on their roster. This season, they will introduce two true freshmen to the starting lineup in Jaylen Hands and Kris Wilkes. Bother were ranked as five-star prospects coming out of high school. The Bruins know what they’re getting in Holiday and Welsh who will be the leaders of the Bruins 2017-18 squad. Goloman has seen an average of 11.4 minutes per game through his first three seasons and should see more in 2017.

Ultimately, the Bruins season will be dictated by how well Hands and Wilkes perform. If they fulfill the hype of their five-star status, the Bruins could be a contender in the Pac 12 and a top-10 team this season. The Jacket will certainly have their handsful with the talent the Bruins will bring to the table.
