Georgia Tech Football vs Virginia Tech 2017: Four players to watch
Player #1: Virginia Tech QB Josh Jackson
The first true freshman to start at Virginia Tech since the famous Michael Vick, Jackson has put together a pretty strong season in his first year as the Hokies signal caller. Through nine games, Jackson has completed 62.4% of his passes for 2,229-yards, 17 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
Jackson got off to a hot start this season, throwing 12 touchdown passes and one interception through the Hokies first four games. Since then, Jackson has thrown five touchdowns and five interceptions in five games.
In that five-game stretch, Jackson faced three quality defenses in Clemson, Boston College, and Miami. In all three games, he was able to complete 60%+ of his passes but he also threw just three touchdowns to five interceptions in those three games.
The Yellow Jackets defense isn’t as stout as those three defenses which will make them an interesting matchup against Jackson. He’s shown his ability to shred up average and below-average defenses,
If Jackson has a big game against the Jackets, it will be tough for the Jackets to pull out the victory.
