It’s time for some clean old fashioned hate and the Jackets have opened up as 11-point underdogs to their rival Georgia.

The Jackets are coming off an embarrassing 40-23 loss to the hands of the Duke Blue Devils. The loss gave the Jackets their fifth loss of the season meaning that the Jackets must defeat the top-10 ranked Bulldogs to become bowl eligible.

Vegas doesn’t like the Jackets odds against the Bulldogs to say the least. UGA has opened up as an 11-point favorite over the Jackets for Saturday afternoon’s game. The Bulldogs will enter Saturday’s matchup with 10-1 and are coming off a 42-13 win over Kentucky. Their lone loss of this season came two weeks ago when they were hammered by Auburn, 40-17.

The Bulldogs are already set to place in the SEC Championship game in two weeks but won’t overlook the Jackets to keep their college football playoff hopes alive.

Vegas favoring the Bulldogs by so much isn’t shocking at all when considering both teams’ resumes heading into this weekend. The Jackets have been up-and-down all season and have had various disappointing performances this season. On the other hand, the Bulldogs have been impressive through most of the season outside of their lone loss to Auburn.

Then there is the recent history in the Clean Old-Fashioned Hate which outside of a few outliers has been dominated by the Bulldogs. Since the turn of the millennium, the Jackets have just won four matchups. The Jackets also haven’t won at home against the Bulldogs since 1999 when George O’Leary and Jim Donna were the respective head coaches.

Next: Jackets lose big to Duke

Under Paul Johnson, it hasn’t been pretty for the Jackets. Tech is just 3-9 against the Bulldogs, with 0-4 record at home. That being said, the Jackets have won two of the last three matchups but this Bulldogs team is better coached and built for success than any in recent memory.

Now, throw everything that was just mentioned above out the window. It simply doesn’t matter, it’s a rivalry and it’s time for some Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate. TWHG!
