Georgia Tech Football vs Georgia 2017: Players to watch
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets: QB TaQuon Marshall/RB KirVonte Benson
To go along with choosing two Bulldogs for the first “player” to watch, we’ll use Tech quarterback TaQuon Marshall and BB KirVonte Benson. This season, the two have been one of the most dynamic duo in Tech history under Paul Johnson rushing for a combined 2,083-yards and 23 touchdowns.
On average, the dynamic duo has combined for 208.3 yards and 2.3 touchdowns per game, not too shabby for two first-year starters.
While you couldn’t expect much better out of KirVonte Benson in his first season, TaQuon’s first season starter could’ve been much better. The junior quarterback has completed just 38% of his passing attempts and have missed several wide-open wide receivers. His decision making has been up-and-down throughout the season with some costly bad decisions.
That being said, the Jackets rushing attack will need their best game of the season. That is asking for a lot considering they rushed for over 500+ yards against Tennessee and still failed to win the game. Never say never, but having a better performance against a much better rush defense seems nearly impossible.
