Florida A&M:  F Desmond Williams

While Marcus Barham has been by far and away FAMU’s best player this season, forward Desmond Williams has been the only other above-average player for the Rattlers this season.

Williams, so far this season is averaging 15.2 points per game and 5.1 rebounds. That being said, the senior is shooting just .398 from the field this season and just .688 from the free throw line.

That being said, despite the worse shooting numbers, Williams has a higher usage rate than Barham at 28.5%. Per 100 possessions, Williams has an offensive rating of 88.8 which is 12 points lower than last years of 88.8. Even his true shooting percentage of .457 and effective field goal percentage of .414 is lower than it was a year ago.

That being said, despite having a rough season shooting percentage wise, Williams is taking enough shots to offset his misses. So far this season, Williams has scored double-digit points in 11 of his 13 games including four games of 20-points or more.

The Jackets will need to keep the pressure on Barham on Sunday but can’t forget about Williams. Williams on the right night can be just as dangerous as his fellow senior in Barham.
