CB Zamari Walton will officially join the Georgia Tech Football program on Wednesday when he signs his letter of intent.

Zamari Walton, one of three 2018 Georgia Tech Football recruits from the state of Florida will officially become a Yellow Jacket on Wednesday. The 6-foot-0, 160-pound cornerback from Melbourne, Florida is ranked as a three-star composite prospect.

In terms of ranks, Walton is considered a top 1,200 recruit in the nation and the 96th best cornerback in the country. He is one of two cornerback back commitments joining four-star Jaylon King.

Walton is a recruit that will be in need of several seasons of practice squad work. While he has a ton of potential, Walton like most players won’t be ready for the big stage next season. It’s hard to say if he will be ready for a ton of playing time in a year and a half.

Recruiting Overview:

The three-star recruit had only five known scholarship offers over his recruitment. The Florida native very well may have had more offers but decided not to share them publicly. The five known offers he did receiver were the following;

  • Cincinnati
  • Mercer
  • Georgia Tech
  • Samford
  • Vanderbilt

The Yellow Jackets were the fourth offer that the Jackets received in his recruitment, receiving his offer in early April. Walton had enough interest in the Jackets to visit them on April 21st just two weeks after receiving his offer.

Despite taking an unofficial visit in April to UCF, the Golden Knights did not give Walton any known offers. After spending the time to think out his recruitment in May and June, Walton committed to the Jackets in early July.

Since then, Walton has been a hard commitment for the Yellow Jackets.
