OFFERED: George Johnson III – Stuart, FL (Martin County)

Johnson is the only other quarterback the Jacket have offered so far in the 2019 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports.

Johnson, a native of Stuart, FL which is located just outside Port St. Lucie is the only quarterback of the three to have a crystal ball prediction in favor of the Yellow Jackets. That crystal ball prediction came on Monday from Miami Hurricanes insider Andrew Ivins. The prediction came on the same day that the Jackets offered the Florida native.

According to his 247Sports profile, Johnson stands at 5-foot-11 and 180-pounds which is similar to the size of current starting quarterback TaQuon Marshall. Johnson so far has earned 10 scholarship offers with two power five offers from Georgia Tech and N.C. State.

Athletically, Johnson is a gifted athlete and runs a 4.45 forty-yard dash according to his HUDL profile. Out of the three quarterbacks the Jackets have offered, Johnson appears to be the best passer of the three as he has great ability to keep his eyes down field, avoid pressure and find an open receiver. He does have a strong arm but does appear to under throw the ball to his receivers at times.

When Johnson takes off he is hard to take down as he’s quick and agile, being able to juke out defenders with ease. While he’s not a perfect quarterback like the other three, Johnson should receive a pretty strong rating from 247Sports once the recruiting service gets to him.
