Georgia Tech Football Recruiting Update: Jackets land in Kendrick’s top 7 while offering an underrated corner
In the latest Monday edition of our Georgia Tech football recruiting update, the Jackets landed in one recruit’s top 7 while they offered an underrated corner from Leesburg.
Kendricks includes Georgia Tech in Top 7:
Mario Kendricks, a Kissimmee, Florida native has released his top seven list as he narrows it down from 23 scholarship offers and gets closer to a potential commitment. Among his top seven schools was Georgia Tech, one of six ACC programs on Kendricks’s list. The only non-ACC school that made the cut? Iowa State, who is coming off one of their best seasons in the last 20-years and has a rising coach in Matt Campbell.

Kendricks has made at least one trip to The Flats before, as he visited for Tech’s junior day on January 28th. His performance at the junior camp allowed him to land an offer from the Yellow Jackets coaching staff. Offensive line coach Mike Sewak is Kendrick’s primary recruiter according to 247Sports.
Jackets send scholarship offer out to Lee County cornerback:
Tavian Mayo, a native of Leesburg and a cornerback at Lee County High School received a scholarship offer on Friday from the Yellow Jackets. According to 247Sports, Andy McCollum is Mayo’s lead recruiter.
Mayo, a three-star recruit now holds 16 scholarship offers from a wide-range of schools. Out of Mayo’s 16 scholarship offers, 10 have come from Power Five programs from either the Big Ten or the ACC.
The Leesburg native is ranked as a three-star corner in 247Sport’s composite rankings and is ranked as the 122nd best cornerback in the country. Though with an offer list as strong as his, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Mayo take a leap in the near future in recruit rankings
