The Georgia Tech football program landed it’s 10th commitment in the 2019 recruiting class on Saturday.

The hot run for Georgia Tech football recruiting continued on Saturday when they landed their 10th commitment in the 2019 recruiting class. The newest commitment is from Franklin, Tennessee native LB Chico Bennett Jr.

A 6-foot-4, 215-pound linebacker, Bennett Jr. is ranked as the 83rd best linebacker in the 2019 class by 247Sports’s composite rankings. He’s also rated as 1,072nd best player overall and the 33rd best player in Tennessee.

Primarily recruited by Andy McCollum, Bennett is the second linebacker commit in the 2019 class. He joins inside linebacker Adharrious Gee from Cordele, Georgia.

Prior to committing to the Yellow Jackets, Bennett was the recipient of 15 scholarship offers. TCU, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Virginia were among other schools interested in the Battle Ground Academy linebacker. The Yellow Jackets coaching staff originally offered Bennett Jr back in March before he took an unofficial visit to The Flats late last month. Beating out in-state programs such and Tennessee and Vanderbilt is a big recruiting victory for the Yellow Jackets.

More from Yellow Jacked Up

The Volunteer State has been kind to the Jackets in the past, supplying players such as four-star recruit Jaylon King, who the Jackets signed in the 2018 recruiting cycle.

At 6-foot-4 and 215-pound, Bennett Jr already has great size for playing at the next level and could even use putting on some more weight.

Depending on Bennett’s true  speed,  he could be a linebacker who be a great pass rusher for the Yellow Jackets.

Note:

Sorry for the rather short post on today’s commitment, tomorrow, we will have what to expect from Bennett Jr and recent quarterback commit Jordan Yates.
