Fans of Netflix’s hit show “Last Chance U” may get to see former Yellow Jacket Jay Jones play for Independence Community College, who will reprise their role as the team followed in season four of the hit show.

Last time we talked about Jay Jones, the Alabama native had announced that he was transferring from Georgia Tech. The move was a surprise to some as the depth chart continued to fill up and it was evident that Jones may not see playing time at Tech any time in the future. Jones looking to revive his career found his new landing spot it looks like a Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas.

The Independence Pirates were the stars of season three of “Last Chance U”, the hit show on Netflix that follows JUCO football programs and the stories that make up each program. After spending two years at East Mississippi Community College, the show focused on the Independence Pirates for season three and are planning to follow them for the fourth season of the show as well.

While we won’t give away spoilers of what happened in season three, Georgia Tech fans who enjoy the show should know about the Pirates quarterback situation entering 2018. Among their quarterbacks is a former five-star in Malik Henry, a former Florida State. However, it appears that Jones right now is the favorite to land the starting job to start the season for Independence according to Jeff Carpenter, the Pirates play-by-play man.

If Jones is in fact the front runner to land the job, it does speak volumes to the talent Jones considering the quarterback depth at Independence. But until the season starts, nobody will know for sure if Jones will in fact be the starting quarterback.

That being said, Tech fans should look forward to seeing the former Yellow Jacket on the show next fall.
