Former Georgia Tech wide receiver Ricky Jeune has been spending training camp with the Dallas Cowboys and so far has been impressive.

Former Georgia Tech star, Ricky Jeune may not have been drafted in this year’s NFL Draft but he is doing all he can to make an NFL roster and with the Dallas Cowboys, Jeune may have one of his best shots. The Cowboys entering 2018 have one of their weaker wide receiving cores of the last few years and Jeune is appearing to take full advantage of his opportunity.

Last week, Jeune got his first taste of NFL action when he suited up with the Cowboys to take on the San Francisco 49ers. Jeune finished the game with one reception for 11-yards, it was his only target of the night. That being said, even when Jeune wasn’t being targeted in the game he was still productive. Pro Football Focus hands out game grades for each team and for the Cowboys, Jeune was graded as one of the Cowboys top five players. Jeune had an offensive grade of 75.8, the only rookie from the Cowboys to be in the top five.

Jeune’s impressive play was not just in the Cowboys preseason opener but has also showed up in practice. Reporters throughout the last few weeks have been posting videos every now and then of Jeune making impressive catches against opposing corners. The most recent example may be one of his best catches of camp so far.

For Jeune it won’t be easy to make the Cowboys roster as an undrafted free agent but the New York native is doing all he can to give himself a shot. Jeune will have to battle over the next several weeks as the season draws closer and the Cowboys begin to make cuts. Last season, a lot of Tech fans had their eyes on Harrison Butker who was having an impressive camp with the Carolina Panthers. He would go onto be cut by the Panthers but was picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs and quickly became one of the best kickers in the NFL last season.

Jeune will have his second chance to impress during actual action as the Cowboys are set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday night.
