A-Backs & B-Backs: B+

The A-Backs and B-Backs on Saturday were impressive with all things considered. Jordan Mason got the start on Saturday with KirVonte Benson suspended for the first quarter and filled in nicely for Benson. Mason in his first career start showed his speed, strength, and overall potential as he ran his way to 85-yards and a touchdown on 11-carries.

KirVonte Benson once he returned showed Tech fans why he is so valuable to the offense as racked up 75-yards and two touchdowns on just ten touches in the 41-0 win. Benson at one point carried Alcorn State defenders on his back into the endzone showing off his incredible strength.

The a-backs were used a handful of times on Saturday but showed their explosiveness as the trio of Nathan Cottrell, Clinton Lynch, Qua Searcy combined for 108-yards on the ground on just four rushing attempts. Searcy also added 36 receiving yards to his total, giving him 95 total yards on the afternoon.
