USF looks to continue strong play against Power 5 Programs:

Not many teams in college football can consistently play “Power 5” (P5) programs and come away from those games with wins. Among the teams that can make such a claim is that of USF.

The Bulls are among the best “Group of 5” programs in the country and over the course of the last three years have been one of the toughest programs in the country to beat. Collecting back-to-back 10+ win seasons, the Bulls have had their fair share of P5 opponents. In 2016, they faced Syracuse, #13 Florida State, and South Carolina. Last season, they took on Illinois and Texas Tech.

Out of those five games that the Bulls played in against P5 opponents, they came away with just one loss. That loss was to the ranked Florida State Seminoles in 2016. But that being said, when it comes to unranked P5 opponents, the Bulls are winners of five straight games dating back to 2015. For the Yellow Jackets, that stat doesn’t bode well but it just goes onto show that even when another team may have more talent than the Bulls, the Bulls will find ways to stay in games and even win them. They are simply not an opponent, Georgia Tech or any P5 program should take lightly.
